The difference between Brazil's Neymar and Barcelona's one
Neymar has
again performed well with Brazil. He made some people compare his
performances with both National Team performance and Barca. This
comparison was explained by Mourinho in his controversial statement
against Ronaldo.
When Mourinho controversially attacked and criticized Cristiano Ronaldo
by saying "he thinks he knows everything in football," he explained how
that turned the latter a scoring machine. He said that the offensive
tactic was changed to make every use of Ronaldo's abilities, which
eventually worked according to the Special One.
The statement made by the Blues manager shows the mentality of a coach
who has high quality decisive players. It also proves that many teams
build their tactic around a certain player such as Lionel Messi in
Barcelona's case and RVP in Man United's case. If you look closely, the
players who support the above names don't score frequently. This
explains why, during Mou's time in Santiago Bernabéu, no one in Real
Madrid score as many as CR7 did, or even got close to him, unlike what
we can see now under Ancelotti as many players share the goals fairly.
Barcelona build their offensive tactics now around Messi who hardly miss
a chance. On the other hand, Brazil treat Neymar as their own Messi
where he acts as the center of his national team's tactic in the
frontline. Of course this doesn't apply to the Brazilian youngster in
his club.
Neymar needs nothing but patience till Tata Martino formulates a good
tactic in which he can be integrated. It takes a while for a player like
Neymar to become a good addition without negatively affecting the
brilliant Messi at his current shape. Neymar needs new attacking tactics
to get his scoring chances, which is probably under process and being
studies carefully. No one can argue that goals are not the most
important thing for any striker, albeit Neymar could be both of a
striker and a playmaker.
